Melissa McMahon

Melissa McMahon is a dynamic leader with over 20 years of experience in localization. She specializes in human and machine translation, language technology, and supply chain management. Known for her collaborative approach and focus on delivering customer-centric solutions, Melissa thrives on building and innovating from the ground up.

She began her career as a Financial Translator and quickly became a trailblazer in the industry. In 2005, Melissa founded the English Office at SDL (now RWS), assembling a 40-person team and a freelancer network spanning 55 source languages. At Acclaro, she has driven impactful initiatives, including creating training academies, underscoring her commitment to fostering talent and innovation.

Melissa earned her degree from University College London and has lived in the UK and Germany. Now based on a smallholding in Mid-Wales, she enjoys caring for animals, working the land, and antiquing. Two peacocks often “join” her meetings from her windowsill.

Inspired by her grandfather’s linguistic passion, Melissa describes her career as rewarding and unexpected, with constant learning and diverse connections as highlights. Her dedication continues to fuel success within Acclaro and the global localization industry.
