Dorothy van Lingen

Based in Falmouth, Massachusetts, Dorothy van Lingen brings a deep passion for languages and technology to her Director of Account Strategy role at Acclaro. With a BA in Spanish from Framingham State University and an MBA in International Business from Bentley University, Dorothy has cultivated a career that blends linguistic expertise with strategic business acumen.

She began her journey in the localization industry by owning a translation company for seven years. Since then, she has held leadership roles across sales and operations at companies such as Net-Translators, VistaTEC, and Rubrik, specializing in software and technology clients.

Dorothy’s accomplishments include managing diverse teams, fostering client relationships, and contributing to the industry as a guest speaker and board member of the New England chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. Outside of work, she has studied several languages throughout her career and enjoys practicing six of them daily. She also enjoys biking, swimming, and reading on Cape Cod.

A dedicated volunteer, Dorothy has served as a webmaster for a nonprofit for over 14 years, taught English as a second language, and supported her local food pantry as a board officer. Her favorite part of the localization industry is connecting with colleagues and clients from diverse cultures, continually learning and growing through these relationships.
