New York, NY, April 22, 2014 – New York translation agency Acclaro revealed this morning that client Airbiquity relied on them to translate the Choreo Connected Car Platform into 32 languages worldwide. Airbiquity, the global leader in vehicle telematics, geofencing, and connected car systems, partners with Acclaro on an ongoing basis for translation and localization of its cloud-based vehicle services delivery platform.
“Airbiquity’s global focus and pace of innovation place them at the forefront of connected car services,” commented Michael Kriz, Founder and CEO of Acclaro. “We are privileged to manage the localization of their cutting-edge platform that facilitates and transforms the way we stay connected while on the road.”
Airbiquity’s Choreo platform enables automotive OEMs to deploy innovative connected car programs globally for their customers. It is currently available in over 50 countries worldwide and counts millions of vehicles that access it daily. From BMW to Ford to Nissan, the Choreo platform connects modern vehicles with all that the cloud has to offer – in one accessible and multilingual interface.
Acclaro’s San Francisco translation office plays a key role in adapting Airbiquity’s platform to strategic language markets across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and South America. A recent project involved the translation of Nissan head units and their integration with various mobile apps, including TripAdvisor, OpenTable, Yelp, Twitter and Spotify. The 32 languages include mature-market languages such as Japanese, French and German, as well as emerging and higher-growth market languages such as Chinese, Russian Thai and Turkish.
The multilingual and highly versatile Choreo platform is so successful that Airbiquity was recently honored as a 2014 Edison Award finalist. Beyond choreographing a custom experience for global drivers, it promotes safety on the road, whether in Dubai, Paris or Tokyo. Controls within the platform ensure that speech recognition and text-to-voice are used when a vehicle is in motion. This allows drivers to enjoy their favorite applications without taking their eyes off the road. Other safety-oriented features include remote vehicle monitoring, geo-fencing, and automatic crash notifications.
“We enjoy working with such innovative, forward-thinking and safety-oriented individuals,” expressed Kriz. “I look forward to seeing Airbiquity’s reach continue to extend around the world as global drivers get access to infotainment and services in their native languages.”
