Rainer Plaschka shares 15 years at Acclaro this year
We’re thrilled to announce that Rainer Plaschka, Test Lead at Acclaro is celebrating his 15-year anniversary with the company this month. Rainer manages localization and linguistic quality assurance (QA) initiatives for clients’ software applications, websites and mobile apps.
His typical day involves creating or reviewing test scripts and test plans, setting up, verifying or troubleshooting test environments, supporting and training a global team of testers, and performing bug management and reporting cycles.
Rainer loves to troubleshoot complex UI bugs. He also enjoys refining testing processes and workflows, and working with our Ops and Sales teams to develop testing estimates for clients.
Rainer started his localization career in 1992 as a German language freelance translator. He worked at International Communications Inc. and was eventually hired as a full-time German Language Lead. When that company merged with Lionbridge in 2000, Rainer’s role changed to Business Unit Manager and later to Senior Project Manager.
After leaving the localization industry for three years, Rainer was contacted by a former colleague in late 2005 who worked at Acclaro at the time. There was an opportunity to work on linguistic testing for a Sony Creative Software project. Rainer immediately agreed, since the work was right up his alley. Acclaro hired Rainer as a full-time employee in 2007.

Outside of work, Rainer enjoys bicycling, including rides from Boston to Montreal. He also likes to spend time with his wife and dog outdoors on walks and hikes. Whenever they have a chance, Rainer and his wife visit a Keuka Lake family cottage in Western New York.
